China’s Stocks End Monday in Green

(MENAFN) Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday, with major indexes posting strong gains across technology-driven sectors. The Shanghai Composite Index advanced 1.09 percent to end at 4,165.29 points, while the Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.75 percent to 14,366.91 points.

Turnover across the two markets reached 3.6 trillion yuan, equivalent to about 513.7 billion U.S. dollars, marking a sharp increase from 3.12 trillion yuan in the previous session. Shares in Sora and AI corpus industries led the rally, though insurance, oil, and gas extraction stocks recorded significant losses.

Growth-focused boards also saw notable gains. The ChiNext Index, which tracks China’s Nasdaq-style market for startups, climbed 1.82 percent to close at 3,388.34 points. Meanwhile, the STAR Composite Index, reflecting sci-tech innovation shares, surged 2.88 percent to finish at 1,855.38 points.
